From my friends at 1320 Video, an excerpt from their new DVD.
Mustang hauls off and ends up doing around 140 right when a cop lights him up. In light of all the negativity towards LEO's, this should be a little refreshing. Sometimes the car gods smile down upon us in favor, other times they blow up your shit out of spite.

An Island County deputy once screamed at my father (I was in front seat) for going 56 in a 50. I guess I either need to move to Texas or buy my dad a nice Mustang.

Cheap gas, open roads, fastest speed limit in the U.S., growing economy, lenient cops, no income tax, no bad winters, BBQ. What the hell am I doing in Il?

Basically this is where everyone should move.

You'd have to sell your Scion and get something with a V8. It's point and squirt muscle car land.

From my brief drive from Southern California to Austin Texas (a while back) I saw nothing but straight line roads. From what I saw, anyway, there aren't enough twisty canyon roads for those low horse power sports cars to spread their legs.
There could be some but I don't know if that's the case for the vast majority of Texas. At least not near the large metropolitan cities where one would typically want to live.

Austin's Hill Country area has some beautiful back roads, there's a road I frequent that passes by what's left of Lake Travis, it hasultiple hairpins, some with elevation changes, and corners where the inside "shoulder"(?) Is a drop-off, most of the road is lined with woods on both sides, but it has a small residential area where you can slow down a bit, but the residents are aware that cars like to drive fast there, so they are careful.
Heh, one time a seemingly inexperienced driver in a FiST couldn't pull away from my Versa. He was too nervous on the hairpins and blind corners.

Tell that to the 2000 horsepower GTR that just rolled up behind you.
